Open Loop Data ============== Data Collection --------------- Bistatic radar data from 2005/344 and 346 are being transferred. But the large file sizes, conflicts, and low priority of our requests has made the process slow. We have completed quick-look processing on the following MEX RSR open loop radio occultation data at Stanford: DOY DSS RSR BAND RSR CH KSPS BT REC RECS RSR MAX START STOP ID RS LEN FILE NAME SNR --- --- -------- -------- ---- --- -- ---- -- ----- ----- ------------ ----- 343 15 02:13:00 02:32:00 X/XR 4 1 2 16 8260 1141 5343021A.RSR 59.9 345 63 01:16:00 01:35:00 X/XR 4 1 2 16 8260 1141 5345011A.RSR 61.9 345 63 01:16:00 01:35:00 X/SR 3 1 2 16 8260 1141 5345011B.RSR 53.3 347 65 00:19:00 00:38:00 X/XR 4 1 2 16 8260 1141 5347001A.RSR 59.4 347 65 00:19:00 00:38:00 X/SR 3 1 2 16 8260 1141 5347001B.RSR 45.9 347 14 07:02:00 07:21:00 X/XR 4 1 2 16 8260 1141 5347070A.RSR 61.9 347 14 07:02:00 07:21:00 X/SR 3 1 2 16 8260 1141 5347070B.RSR 53.9 Anomalies --------- The S-band companion to the first occultation (2005/343-02:13:00) had no signal; so the RSSG did not retrieve the samples. There is a +/-0.5 dB sawtooth modulation on the carrier amplitude in the X-band data from DSS 63 (start time 2005/345-01:16:00). This may be related to the modulation seen on previous DSS 63 occultations, reported in HEA5345A.TXT. In the new data, the sawtooth has a period of about 140 s, so there are about 5 cycles before ingress. The same modulation may also be present on the S-band carrier; but it is much harder to see. Power line spurs are common in X-band spectra.
