Gene and Danny: Here is the time line for Saturday's MEX BSR: day 121 (local time 09:35 AM to approximately 02:30 PM 01 May) at DSS 63. This will be very similar to the other experiments we have done recently except that it is shorter (only 42 minutes). Surface echoes start on the high side of the carrier, and slowly drift higher. The region being probed is cratered terrain south of the equator from roughly (20S, 140E) to (34S, 135E). The incidence angle on the surface increases from 40 to 53 degrees. Echoes will be weak, getting stronger as we go along. LCP will always be stronger than RCP, but RCP will gain throughout the observations. For playback, I recommend the following for the 25 kHz data (no segment longer than 88 minutes): Pre-cal Track until start of 100 kHz data Surface observations until end of 100 kHz data Remaining track plus post-cal For 100 kHz playback two 21 minute segments would be best; but I can carve these up at Stanford if you give me a 42 minute file from each RSR.
