Results of quick-look processing of the 25 kHz data from this experiment were reported in HEA9111A.TXT; those data also appeared to be good. X-RCP and X-LCP echoes have power densities several times larger than the noise baseline and at least an order of magnitude larger than the noise fluctuations with 10 seconds of averaging. The noise appears to be well-behaved. Since the observations were conducted near the Brewster angle (approximately 60 deg from vertical incidence), this experiment is a good candidate for deriving X-Band dielectric constants along the specular track from about (30N, 8E) to (40N, 10E) even though MEX was near apocenter and Earth-Mars range was over 2.1 AU. Anomalies --------- No S-RCP bistatic radar data were collected because the maser lost gain following a 'cryogenic glitch.' This means there will be no S-Band dielectric constant estimates and no comparison of values at 3.6 and 13 cm wavelengths. Word yesterday from DSS 63 was that the maser was performing normally again as we prepare for the next experiment on day 2009/115.
