BepiColombo Magnetometer MPO-MAG This bundle contains raw data from the BepiColombo MPO-MAG magnetometer on the BepiColombo Mercury Planetary Orbiter. It contains the following primary collections: browse_calibrated - browse images for data products in the data_calibrated collection calibration_files - static and derived calibration coefficients needed to calibrate data data_calibrated - calibrated data products data_partially_processed - partially processed data products data_raw - raw data products document - documentation Each document and data product in this bundle is described by a PDS4 label in a separate file with the same name but with the extension XML. PDS4 labels are XML (eXtended Markup Language) files that conform to the PDS4 Information Model XML schema at https://pds.nasa.gov/pds4/schema/released/. They are best viewed in an XML-aware text editor, and may be used by software that can manipulate XML documents. See these sources for more information. - For information about PDS4, see https://pds.nasa.gov/pds4/about/. Additional information can be found in the bundle and collection labels and document collection. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- W A R N I N G T O D A T A U S E R S !! Although MPO-MAG is located on a boom, spacecraft magnetic disturbance fields have a high impact on the magnetic field observations. They are present at DC as well as on AC level and are caused by varying s/c currents, thruster and reaction wheel operations, P/L activities and possibly other sources. All these disturbances are subject to advanced data cleaning procedures under permanent improvements, but data cleaning might be impossible at certain time intervals. Therefore, a general warning is stated here: * Use the data with caution and analytic expertise. * Please read the provided documentation carefully. * In any doubt of the "realness" of a detected structure please contact the PI team for clarification. The MPOMAG instrument is described in full detail in [HEYNERETAL2020]. The Experiment to Archive Interface Control Document [RICHTERTAL2020] is part of current the dataset. The Experiment User Manual [FISCHERETAL2017] is also part of this dataset. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
