     This document is (A) a set of notes taken before and during the noise    
     calibration tests of 8 April 2004 and (B) a draft report on the results. 
     The document is archived in both ASCII and Microsoft Word formats.       
                                                                              
     Part A of the document (files R4099A.ASC and R4099A.DOC) summarizes      
     discussions before the tests in Pasadena (7 April 2004) and at DSS 14    
     (the morning of 8 April 2004).  Configurations are described and the     
     'operator directives' to achieve them are given.                         
                                                                              
     Then the three tests (S-RCP, X-RCP, and X-LCP) are summarized.  Tables   
     show the configurations used as a function of time (e.g., noise diode    
     ON and ambient load connected starting at 21:22:45 during the S-RCP      
     test).  No separate S-LCP configurations were attempted because          
     (1) time was running out, (2) there was significant radio frequency      
     interference (RFI) in the S-RCP channel, and (3) clouds were building    
     up over the station.  However, some S-LCP data were collected in the     
     course of conducting the S-RCP tests.                                    
                                                                              
     Part B of the document (files R4099B.ASC and R4099B.DOC) summarizes the  
     analysis of the noise calibration data carried out at Stanford.  None    
     of the figures or Excel spreadsheets mentioned in the document is        
     included in the archive; the intention is to describe the process        
     rather than document the calibration itself - which would have to be
