Note that three occultations were completely lost and one may be significantly compromised because the integrity of the data samples is in question. Anomalies --------- On 2006/035 the DSS 63 X-Band data (orbit 2654) have weak signals scattered across the spectrum; the raw power in the samples is about 30 dB below the level that is expected. On S-Band there is only noise. There appears to be nothing in either recording that can be used by science. Danny Kahan postulated a couple possible reasons for the absence of signals, but nothing can be confirmed. On 2006/036 the DSS-15 data (orbit 2658) have no signal. According to Danny Kahan, "the antenna was stowed until a problem calibrating the transmitter could be resolved" (DR #G106505). Presumably the RSR ran while the antenna was pointed to zenith. On 2006/037 a pass (probably orbit 2661) was switched to DSS 65 because the DSS 63 LNA was "red." The rescheduling information reached RSSG too late to rewrite the RSR script. No data were played back to JPL. On 2006/039 the X-Band I and Q samples from DSS 65 (orbit 2668) have distinctly different distributions. There is no obvious explanation, and the data collected two days earlier and one day later (presumably using the same equipment) show no such anomalous features.
