BROWSE Directory Contents
The BROWSE directory contains PNG thumbnail files for browsing the data
provided in the DATA directory. Each file comes with a detached PDS label.
Note that there is *not* a one to one correspondence between the DATA
products and the BROWSE products. Instead, BROWSE products are provided
as yearly, quarterly or monthly overviews.
BROWSE products are also only provided for a selected set of parameters
in the data sets, carefully chosen as being of most interest to have as
thumbnails to help browse through the data sets and select data and periods
of interest.
For the RWL dataset, Browse products have been produced from launch to
the end of the mission. They are provided in yearly form (YYYY - see below)
from launch to time when the satellite comes out of hibernation in Jan 2014
and continue on a 3 monthly (QX - see below) basis until 30th Sept 2016.
For further details of the BROWSE product implementation, please see the
USER_GUIDE.PDF and the EAICD_HK.PDF documents in the DOCUMENT directory.
The BROWSE file naming convention is defined to match with the
part of the directory structure defined in the /DATA
directories, i.e.
_.
or
_.
or
_.
where:
is the housekeeping parameter presented
is the year shown in the thumbnail
is the year and month shown in the thumbnail
is the year and quarter shown in the thumbnail
is either PNG for the browse file or LBL for the
corresponding PDS label file
Note that for the RWL_EST_FRICT_TORQUE data, the used in
the BROWSE filenames cannot be identical to the one used in the DATA
subdirectory, as this would break the rules on filename length in the
PDS Standards. As a result, the following is used for those files:
RWL_EST_FRIC_TORQUE_YYYY_QX.
