 SPU HLSW V12.7 - WHAT'S NEW !!

SPU HLSW 12.7 is a pre-13 release, containing the following new features:

* SCR498 


This will be explained in the specific sections that follow.

The required Decompression SW version is:
- Decompression12 (Ground Decompression Software in Java)

The SPU HLSW Development Team.

	   
- SCR 498: A new lossless compression scheme has been established (called "velveteen")
  which works with *any* FM Photometry Data. Typical data rates (blue+red) are
  120 -- 160 kbit/s in Default mode.

- The averaging module has been completely rewritten to support rounded
  averages in photometry. Averages of an arbitrary number of samples will be
  added in the next release.

- Double Compression Mode in Photometry does not use the integration module
  any more. Instead, it averages over 8 samples, ignoring the chopper.

- Several assembly functions have been added in rolib_a.s to gain CPU power.

- RZip2 has been added and tested, but is not yet activated.

- a vbwl coder has been added as backend for "velveteen".

- OBSID changes don't trigger new Compressed Entities any more.
